Brushing & Flossing with Invisalign

Brushing & Flossing with Invisalign

Invisalign clear orthodontic aligners are removable, making it easy to maintain your brushing and flossing routine during treatment.

Because Invisalign aligners are removable, there are no extra steps or special tools necessary during your actual brushing and flossing sessions.

Just pop your aligners out, and thoroughly brush and floss your teeth like usual.

There are only a few extra precautions you’ll need to take during treatment, and they’re as follows:

You’ll need to clean your aligners too.

Clean your aligners using soft soap (not toothpaste) and a soft toothbrush, each time you take them out.

You should also soak your regularly in the official Invisalign cleaning crystals, or in Denture cleaner, Retainer Brite, or just white vinegar to remove any buildup and to keep your trays sanitized.

If you’re not cleaning your aligners immediately upon removing them, you’ll have to give them a good rinse.

You’ll need to brush and floss more frequently.

You have to put your aligners right back into your mouth after you finish eating in order to stay on track with your treatment.

To avoid food particles and bacteria getting trapped in the tight spaces between your teeth and aligners, you must brush and floss your teeth after each meal, before putting your aligners back in.
